Georgia Names Vanderbilt as 2026 Homecoming Opponent: Bulldogs Set for October SEC Showdown in Athens

Georgia will welcome Vanderbilt to Sanford Stadium on Oct. 3 for its 2026 Homecoming celebration, with an early-afternoon kickoff highlighting another key SEC matchup as the Bulldogs continue their pursuit of conference and College Football Playoff success.

ATHENS, Ga. | The University of Georgia has officially designated its Oct. 3, 2026 Southeastern Conference matchup against Vanderbilt as the Bulldogs' annual Homecoming game, setting the stage for one of the season's most anticipated celebrations at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium.

The contest is scheduled for an early television window between noon and 1 p.m. ET, with the official broadcast network to be announced closer to game day.

For Georgia fans, Homecoming represents far more than tradition. It serves as a reunion of alumni, students, former players, and one of college football's most passionate fan bases, while providing the Bulldogs another opportunity to strengthen their standing in the SEC race and College Football Playoff picture.

Georgia enters the matchup with recent success against the Commodores. The Bulldogs defeated Vanderbilt 37-20 in Nashville during the 2023 season, following a 55-0 win over the Commodores in their most recent meeting in Athens in 2022.

Those performances underscore Georgia's continued control of the series, though Vanderbilt has steadily worked to elevate its football program amid the increasingly competitive landscape of the Southeastern Conference.
