Crimson Tide rolls to eight-stroke victory at Blessings Collegiate Invitational as Lydia Lasprilla becomes first Alabama coach to win first two tournaments
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. | Alabama women’s golf continued its unbeaten start to the 2026-27 season Monday, capturing the Blessings Collegiate Invitational by eight strokes for its second consecutive tournament championship.
The Crimson Tide finished the 54-hole event at 4-over-par 868 after rounds of 280, 294 and 294, comfortably ahead of host Arkansas, which placed second at 12 over.
The victory also gave first-year Alabama head coach Lydia Lasprilla a place in program history. Lasprilla became the first Crimson Tide coach to win the first two tournaments of a coaching tenure.
Alabama has now won its opening two tournaments in the same season for just the second time in program history.
Manon Petitcolas led a strong Crimson Tide showing with a third-place finish at 5-under 211. Petitcolas closed with a 2-under 70 following rounds of 69 and 72, giving her consecutive top-five finishes to begin her collegiate career.
Amely Bochaton joined her in the top five, finishing fourth at 3-under 213. She opened the tournament with a 6-under 66 before rounds of 74 and 73. It was Bochaton’s second straight top-10 finish to begin her Alabama career.
The Crimson Tide’s depth proved decisive.
Alice Johansson and Natachanok Tunwannarux each finished at 6-over 222 and tied for ninth, giving Alabama four players inside the top 10. Johansson posted rounds of 72, 74 and 76 in her first appearance in the Alabama lineup this season.
Tunwannarux recorded rounds of 73, 74 and 75 for the third top-10 finish of her Alabama career.
Tiphani Knight completed Alabama’s lineup at 15-over 231, tying for 26th.
Arkansas’ Maria Jose Marin claimed the individual championship at 12 under, but Alabama’s balanced lineup controlled the team competition and produced another early-season trophy.
The back-to-back championships give Lasprilla and the Crimson Tide an immediate surge of momentum as Alabama moves deeper into its fall schedule.
Alabama returns to competition Oct. 12-13 at the Haskins Intercollegiate in Columbus, Georgia.
