From England's Talent Shows to Global Pop Stardom
Born in Meopham, Kent, England, Bennett demonstrated musical talent from an early age. She began performing in local venues as a teenager and later competed on The X Factor, where she advanced to the final stages of the competition.
Although her television journey ended before the live finals, the exposure proved career-changing. She soon auditioned for music executive Jimmy Iovine and Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin, earning a place in the newly formed girl group Paradiso Girls before relocating to Los Angeles.
Breakthrough with Paradiso Girls
Paradiso Girls burst onto the music scene in 2009 with "Patron Tequila," featuring Eve and Lil Jon. The single climbed to No. 3 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart and introduced Bennett to an international audience.
Despite early momentum, the group released only a handful of singles before being dropped by its record label, ultimately bringing the project to an end.
The Voice Behind a Global Dance Anthem
Bennett achieved worldwide recognition through her featured vocals on LMFAO's blockbuster hit "Party Rock Anthem."
Released in 2011, the song became one of the defining dance-pop records of the decade, topping charts across multiple countries and becoming a cultural phenomenon. Its infectious chorus, energetic production and unforgettable music video helped cement Bennett's place in modern pop music history.
The single remains one of the best-selling digital songs of the 21st century and continues to receive millions of streams worldwide.
Success with G.R.L.
Following Paradiso Girls, Bennett reunited with Robin Antin as part of G.R.L., a new pop group that quickly gained international attention.
The group first appeared on the soundtrack for The Smurfs 2 before collaborating with Pitbull on "Wild Wild Love." Their biggest commercial success came with "Ugly Heart," a breakout single that reached the Top 20 in several international markets, including the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
G.R.L. released its self-titled EP in 2014 and appeared poised for greater success before tragedy struck.
Overcoming Tragedy
In 2014, G.R.L. was devastated by the death of fellow member Simone Battle, an event that led to the group's initial breakup.
Bennett later reunited with remaining members in 2016 as G.R.L. reformed and resumed touring. The trio continued performing internationally while working on new music, reaffirming Bennett's commitment to both her bandmates and fans.
Fans Remember a Lasting Legacy
Beyond chart success, Bennett earned admiration for her resilience, professionalism and unmistakable vocal style.
Her career connected multiple generations of pop fans—from the late-2000s dance era to the streaming generation—through memorable performances and enduring hits that remain staples of playlists around the world.
As tributes continue to pour in across social media, fellow artists and fans alike are celebrating a performer whose voice helped define some of pop music's most recognizable songs.
