🥎Ole Miss Softball Dominates UT Martin in Run-Rule Doubleheader Sweep Ahead of SEC Showdown

Rebels explode for 22 total runs as Tenly Grisham, Persy Llamas and Lilly Whitten lead Ole Miss to commanding victories in Oxford before a marquee series vs. No. 4 Alabama.

OXFORD, Miss. | The Ole Miss Rebels delivered an offensive showcase Tuesday night, powering past UT Martin in a doubleheader sweep with a pair of run-rule victories at Ole Miss Softball Stadium.

The Rebels improved to 18-5 overall and a perfect 8-0 at home, defeating the Skyhawks 12-4 in six innings in Game 1 before closing the night with a 10-0 shutout in five innings. The dominant performance sets the stage for Ole Miss’ upcoming 2026 SEC opening series against No. 4 Alabama, one of the biggest early conference matchups of the season.

Ole Miss wasted little time asserting control, erupting for seven runs in the first inning of Game 1. After Tenly Grisham reached base to ignite the rally, the Rebels loaded the bases and never looked back. Freshman Madi George drove in the opening run before Cassie Reasner delivered a two-run single and Kennedy Bunker added another RBI knock.

The Rebels’ first-inning barrage continued as Laylonna Applin ripped a two-run double, pushing the lead to 7-0 and effectively putting the game out of reach early.

Ole Miss added insurance in the second inning when George and Reasner again sparked the offense, eventually extending the lead to 9-0. UT Martin briefly threatened with a solo homer in the fourth and a three-run rally in the fifth, but Ole Miss answered back quickly.

In the sixth inning, Persy Llamas delivered the dagger, crushing a two-run double that sealed the 12-4 run-rule victory.

The Rebels carried that offensive momentum straight into Game 2.
