Commodores face 11 CLIPPD Top-25 programs at Long Cove Club as Tillie Claggett leads Vandy into one of college golf’s premier events
The stage is set for one of the most competitive tournaments in women’s college golf — and No. 14 Vanderbilt is right in the middle of it.
The Commodores travel from Nashville to Hilton Head, South Carolina this week for the annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, a three-day, 54-hole showcase hosted at the renowned Long Cove Club. Widely regarded as the premier regular-season event in women’s collegiate golf, the tournament features 11 of the 17 teams ranked inside the CLIPPD Top 25.
Head coach Greg Allen knows exactly what kind of challenge awaits.
“The Darius has become the best tournament in women’s college golf,” Allen said. “Long Cove demands your best — not just from a golf standpoint, but mentally as well.”
