The Terps’ star quarterback fueled Maryland’s 4-0 start with another standout performance in a decisive Big Ten road victory.
MADISON, Wis. | Quarterback Malik Washington continued his record-setting start to the 2025 season, guiding the Maryland Terrapins to a commanding 27-10 win over Wisconsin on Saturday night at Camp Randall Stadium. The victory improved Maryland to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in Big Ten play, reinforcing the Terps’ status as one of the league’s early surprise contenders.
Washington once again showcased why he is one of the nation’s rising stars, passing for over 250 yards while adding a rushing touchdown that broke the game open in the second half. His consistency and efficiency have placed him on pace for one of the most historic starts in program history.
Terps Control the Tempo
Maryland’s defense also delivered, limiting Wisconsin to just 10 points and forcing two turnovers that shifted momentum. The Badgers struggled to sustain drives, while the Terps capitalized on short fields and clock management to maintain control throughout the contest.
Running back Roman Hemby provided balance on the ground, rushing for 80 yards and a touchdown, while Maryland’s offensive line neutralized Wisconsin’s pass rush to keep Washington in rhythm.
