Tigers hit an SEC season-best .361, commit just six attack errors and earn their first home sweep of the Rebels since 2011.
AUBURN, Ala. | Belle Patrick delivered 15 kills, and Auburn volleyball produced its most efficient offensive performance of Southeastern Conference play, sweeping Ole Miss 25-16, 25-16, 25-22 at Neville Arena to open a six-match homestand.
The Tigers (12-8, 2-6 SEC) hit .361, their highest percentage in conference competition this season, while committing a season-low six attack errors. Auburn also limited Ole Miss (8-11, 2-6) to a .097 hitting percentage, the lowest by an SEC opponent against the Tigers this season.
Patrick led Auburn with a .333 hitting percentage, seven digs and three blocks, helping the Tigers snap back into the win column with their first home sweep of Ole Miss since 2011.
The victory also marked Auburn's first consecutive-match sweeps of the Rebels since the Tigers swept their season series in 1998.
Auburn established control early, using a four-point run fueled by two Patrick kills to take a 4-1 lead in the opening set. Grace Havlicek added a service ace to extend the advantage to 10-5, and the Tigers continued to pull away.
Auburn built a 19-9 lead before closing the set 25-16 on consecutive Ole Miss errors.
The Tigers were nearly flawless offensively in the opening frame, recording 15 kills without an attack error on 40 attempts for a .375 hitting percentage. Patrick contributed four kills and five digs.
Ole Miss responded with a 4-0 start in the second set, but Auburn quickly erased the deficit with 10 consecutive points.
Patrick, Anastasija Ivkovic and Lauren Dreves contributed kills during the surge, while Havlicek supplied two blocks as Auburn seized momentum.
The Tigers extended their advantage to 15-6 and later 20-7 before Ole Miss narrowed the margin. Auburn held firm, securing another 25-16 victory on a Rebels service error.
Patrick added six kills in the second set, while Dreves and Kate Mansfield each converted both of their attack attempts.
The third set presented Auburn's toughest challenge.
Neither team led by more than two points through the opening 22 combined points before the Tigers assembled a six-point run to create separation.
Ole Miss battled back within 18-17, but Ivkovic delivered a solo block to halt the Rebels' momentum. Auburn maintained its advantage down the stretch, and Patrick finished the sweep with her 15th kill to secure the 25-22 victory.
Patrick's performance highlighted an Auburn attack that recorded 45 kills, tying its season high for a three-set match.
Havlicek provided a strong presence at the net, finishing with a team-high six blocks, her best total in SEC competition this season. She also recorded five kills on eight attempts without an error, hitting .625.
Ivkovic added eight kills, extending her streak of matches with at least seven kills to 12. Mansfield contributed seven kills while hitting .438, matching her SEC season high.
Emma Moore continued her productive return to the starting lineup with a season-high six kills and a .714 hitting percentage on seven attempts.
Setter Shanelle Puetz directed the offense with 20 assists and a season-high nine digs, narrowly missing a double-double. Puetz and Carson Eickenloff combined for 40 assists, Auburn's highest total in a three-set match this season.
Dreves anchored the back-row defense with a team-high 13 digs.
Auburn's six attack errors were its fewest in a match this season, while the Tigers were blocked just twice, also a season low.
The Tigers finished with 18 fewer attack errors than Ole Miss and held a .264 advantage in hitting percentage, their largest margin against an SEC opponent since out-hitting LSU .344 to .039 on Nov. 19, 2023.
Auburn coach Brent Crouch praised the team's balanced offensive production and improved execution.
"That was one of our most complete performances of the entire season, definitely the most complete since the start of conference play," Crouch said.
Crouch also credited Mansfield and Moore for stepping into less familiar roles and helping Auburn distribute its offensive opportunities more effectively.
The victory offered an encouraging response for Auburn during a difficult stretch of conference play, with the Tigers demonstrating greater offensive balance and defensive consistency.
Auburn will look to build on that momentum Sunday when it hosts LSU at 2 p.m. at Neville Arena.
The match will feature the program's Country Bash promotion, including Auburn volleyball cowboy hats for fans and a postgame children's clinic on the court.
With five matches remaining in the homestand, the Tigers have an opportunity to build on one of their strongest performances of the season as SEC competition continues.
