Tritons continue to set the standard in NCAA Division I by combining elite classroom achievement with competitive success, highlighted by multiple High Honors with Distinction recipients.
A total of 38 Tritons were named to the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for the 2026 spring semester, highlighting the program's commitment to academic excellence while competing at the NCAA Division I level.

Academic Excellence Defines UC San Diego Athletics
While UC San Diego has established itself as one of the nation's emerging Division I athletic programs, academics remain central to its identity.
Following one of the most successful NCAA Division II eras in the country, the Tritons have continued building their reputation after transitioning to Division I competition.
The university boasts one of the nation's highest student-athlete graduation rates, consistently averaging approximately 90 percent, while producing Academic All-Americans, NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipients and conference academic honorees.
Women's rowing has become a prime example of that philosophy, demonstrating that elite athletic performance and academic achievement can coexist at one of America's leading research institutions.
More Than Success on the Water
The Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes the discipline required to succeed in both the classroom and athletic competition.
Balancing daily practices, travel schedules, strength training and coursework requires exceptional time management, commitment and perseverance.
For UC San Diego's rowing program, the recognition reinforces a culture centered on leadership, accountability and excellence.
As collegiate athletics continue evolving, academic achievement remains one of the strongest indicators of long-term student-athlete success.
The 38 Tritons recognized this semester represent not only the continued growth of UC San Diego women's rowing, but also the university's broader commitment to developing graduates prepared to lead in medicine, science, engineering, business and public service long after their athletic careers conclude.
