Colors Ceremony, Commanding General remarks, and the graduation of 2nd Battalion, Golf Company underscored the Marine Corps’ emphasis on discipline, mentorship, and community partnership on the final day of the USMC Educators Workshop.
PARIS ISLAND, S.C. | The final day of the U.S. Marine Corps Educators Workshop concluded with a powerful display of military tradition, leadership development, and graduation ceremonies as educators from across the country joined Marines for Day 4 activities centered on honor, service, and mentorship.
The morning began with the Colors Ceremony from 0715 to 0815, where the raising of the American flag set a solemn and patriotic tone for the day’s events. Marine Corps leaders emphasized the significance of tradition and discipline, values that remain foundational to recruit training and leadership development throughout the Corps.
Following the ceremony, educators, Marines, and workshop participants gathered for an official group photograph, symbolizing the growing partnership between the U.S. Marine Corps and America’s educational community. The annual workshop is designed to give educators firsthand insight into Marine Corps training, leadership principles, and the challenges facing today’s military force.
The centerpiece of Day 4 was the Graduation Ceremony for 2nd Battalion Golf Company, recognizing the accomplishments of Platoons #2024, 2025, 2026, 2028, 2029, and 2030. Family members, Marines, instructors, and visiting educators filled the parade deck and grandstands as newly minted Marines completed one of the most demanding entry-level military training programs in the world.
Marine Corps officials described the ceremony as more than a graduation event, calling it a public demonstration of resilience, teamwork, accountability, and transformation.
Throughout the ceremony, drill instructors and Marine leaders highlighted the discipline and perseverance required to complete recruit training, while educators observed the leadership structure and mentorship systems embedded throughout the process.
The event also featured remarks from the Commanding General, who addressed participants during departing comments from 1015 to 1100. The CG praised both Marines and educators for their commitment to shaping future generations of leaders, emphasizing the importance of civic partnerships, education, and national service.
Officials said the workshop continues to serve as a strategic outreach initiative, strengthening relationships between military institutions and schools while giving educators a deeper understanding of the Marine Corps’ mission and leadership culture.
For many attendees, the final day offered a rare opportunity to witness firsthand the emotional culmination of Marine Corps boot camp — from the raising of the flag to the graduation parade and final leadership remarks.
As the workshop concluded, participants departed with a deeper appreciation for the Corps’ emphasis on honor, courage, commitment, and the development of future leaders both in uniform and in the classroom.
