From national titles to SEC championships, Lauren Hall reflects on growth, team culture, and a career that helped shape Auburn’s equestrian dominance
On the Plains, greatness isn’t just measured in wins—it’s defined by impact. And for Lauren Hall, that impact has been felt far beyond the arena.
Featured in ‘TELL IT LIKE IT IS’ On The Plains, Hall’s journey with the Auburn Tigers equestrian represents the blueprint of what it means to be a student-athlete in one of the nation’s premier collegiate equestrian programs.
A senior leader and marketing major, Hall has spent her Auburn career developing not only her riding ability but also her role as a teammate, mentor, and culture-setter—an evolution that mirrors the Tigers’ continued rise on the national stage.
From Early Passion to Elite Competitor
Hall’s equestrian journey began at just seven years old, inspired by her mother’s own riding background. By nine, she was already competing—laying the foundation for what would become an elite-level career.
Before arriving at Auburn, Hall built an impressive résumé that included:
- Five APHA National Championships
- Four APHA World Championships
Her decision to fully commit to equestrian over other sports like soccer, gymnastics, and dance proved pivotal—setting her on a path that would ultimately lead her to the Loveliest Village on the Plains.
Finding Home at Auburn
For Hall, choosing Auburn wasn’t just about athletics—it was about culture.
After attending camps during high school, she quickly realized the Auburn community offered something different.
“The community here was just unbeatable,” Hall recalled.
That sense of belonging translated into both personal and team success. During her time with the Tigers, Hall contributed depth in Horsemanship while embracing the team-first mentality that defines collegiate equestrian.
A Team-First Transformation
Unlike the individualized nature of youth equestrian, Auburn demanded a new mindset—one centered on collective success.
“You’re not just riding for yourself anymore. You’re riding for your whole team,” Hall said.
That shift has been instrumental not only in her development but also in Auburn’s championship culture. Hall played a role in SEC Championship victories during her first two seasons—moments she describes as unforgettable.
Leadership, Mentorship, and Legacy
Behind Hall’s growth has been a strong support system—from Auburn’s coaching staff to longtime mentor Kip Larson. Their guidance helped push her beyond perceived limits, reinforcing the program’s emphasis on accountability and continuous improvement.
But perhaps Hall’s greatest contribution has been her leadership within the team.
She points to the current Auburn squad as the most connected group she’s experienced—an intangible edge that could prove decisive on the national stage.
“This group is the most connected and close-knit out of all of them,” Hall noted.
The Auburn Standard
When asked to define Auburn in one word, Hall didn’t hesitate: Tradition.
It’s a word that captures everything from the Auburn Creed to the electric atmosphere at home meets—where fan support fuels the Tigers’ competitive edge.
“We have the best fans in all of equestrian,” Hall said.
Eyes on Nationals
As Auburn heads toward national competition, Hall’s journey stands as a testament to growth, resilience, and team culture. While her individual accolades are impressive, it’s her influence on teammates and the program’s identity that defines her legacy.
In a sport where precision and poise are everything, Hall has embodied both—helping ensure Auburn remains a powerhouse in collegiate equestrian.
