Former ICE acting director allegedly accepted cash from undercover agents, but Justice Department intervention ended the inquiry.
WASHINGTON, D.C. | Former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) acting director Tom Homan was the subject of a federal investigation after reportedly accepting $50,000 from undercover FBI agents, according to sources familiar with the matter. The probe, however, was shut down during the Trump administration when the Department of Justice (DOJ) intervened.
The inquiry focused on whether Homan had engaged in improper financial dealings while serving in a senior law enforcement role. Federal agents allegedly presented the payment as part of a sting operation designed to test Homan’s compliance with ethics and anti-corruption standards.
