Auburn’s Glynn and Swallom Sweep SEC Riders of the Month as Tigers Surge Toward No. 1 Showdown

Perfect October performances earn Avery Glynn and Sydney Swallom dual SEC and NCEA honors; No. 2 Auburn prepares for top-ranked Georgia in a high-stakes equestrian clash.

AUBURN, Ala. |
Auburn University continued its dominant rise in collegiate equestrian as juniors Avery Glynn and Sydney Swallom were named SEC Riders of the Month for October, the league office announced Thursday. Glynn earned her honor on the Flat, while Swallom captured the monthly award in Horsemanship, adding significant momentum for the Tigers ahead of their top-five showdown with No. 1 Georgia on Nov. 21.

The selections come as both athletes also earned national recognition as NCEA Riders of the Month, underscoring Auburn’s depth and consistency across multiple events.

Glynn Delivers Perfection on the Flat

Avery Glynn turned in an unbeaten 4-0-0 record on the Flat throughout October, showcasing precision, poise, and competitive endurance. Her breakout ride included a 94-point Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) score in Auburn’s decisive road win over TCU.

Glynn’s dominance continued with:

  • 86–76 victory vs. Baylor
  • 73–71 win over Texas A&M
  • 82.5–73.5 triumph at SMU, securing Auburn’s narrow tiebreaker victory

Glynn extended her streak into November with another Flat win against South Carolina on Nov. 8, improving her season trajectory as Auburn eyes postseason contention.

Swallom Stays Unbeaten in Horsemanship

Sydney Swallom mirrored Glynn’s perfection, posting a 4-0-0 record in Horsemanship during October and earning her first-ever SEC monthly honor. Swallom edged Baylor with a 77–76.5 MOP ride that the NCEA also recognized as the Western Ride of the Week—a major early-season accolade.

Swallom continued to deliver clutch performances with:

  • 76.5–75 MOP ride at TCU
  • 77–76.75 victory at SMU, pivotal in Auburn’s tiebreaker win
  • 74.25–68 win vs. South Carolina on Nov. 8, pushing her to 5-0-0 on the season

Her consistency has elevated Auburn’s scoring power and positioned the Tigers as a national championship frontrunner.

Showdown Coming: No. 2 Auburn vs. No. 1 Georgia

Auburn now turns its focus to hosting top-ranked Georgia on Friday, Nov. 21, at the Auburn Equestrian Center—a matchup with SEC title and national seeding implications.

The Tigers enter the meet with rising national buzz, fueled by their star riders’ perfect October performances and momentum in both Western and Hunt Seat disciplines.

With Glynn and Swallom in peak form, Auburn looks poised to make a statement in what could be one of the defining meets of the 2025–26 season.
