LSU Football Cruises Past Southeastern, 56-10, in Non-Conference Rout

The Tigers showcased explosive offense and suffocating defense to move confidently through their early-season schedule.

BATON ROUGE, La. | The LSU Tigers left little doubt on Saturday night, rolling to a 56-10 victory over Southeastern Louisiana at Tiger Stadium. The dominant performance pushed LSU to 4-0, reaffirming their position as one of the SEC’s most dangerous teams heading into the heart of conference play.

From the opening whistle, LSU dictated the tempo on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier commanded the offense with efficiency, throwing for multiple touchdowns and spreading the ball across a deep receiving corps. Running back Kaleb Jackson powered the ground game with over 100 rushing yards and two scores, while the offensive line consistently controlled the line of scrimmage.

Explosive Tigers Offense

The Tigers scored touchdowns on their first five possessions, racing to a commanding 35-3 halftime lead. Wide receiver Kyren Lacy and freshman standout Shelton Sampson Jr. added explosive plays in the passing game, highlighting LSU’s balanced attack.

Defense Locks Down Southeastern

LSU’s defense was equally impressive, limiting Southeastern to just 10 points while forcing three turnovers. Linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. spearheaded the effort with a sack and a forced fumble, while the secondary tallied two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown in the third quarter.

Looking Ahead

The win provides LSU with momentum as it returns to SEC competition next weekend against Ole Miss in Oxford. Head coach Brian Kelly praised his team’s focus, noting that “we took care of business, and now it’s time to turn the page to the challenges ahead.”
