House Oversight Releases Epstein Estate Files, Including Trump’s Alleged ‘Birthday Book’ Note

Democrats demand transparency as newly released Epstein documents reveal provocative message allegedly tied to President Trump, sparking political firestorm.

WASHINGTON, D.C. | The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has released a tranche of documents from the estate of the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including the so-called “birthday book” that allegedly contains a racy message signed by President Donald Trump.

The controversial note, first reported by The Wall Street Journal, includes an outline of a woman’s body and the phrase, “We have certain things in common, Jeffrey.” Democrats on the Oversight Committee publicized the document Monday, calling it evidence of a potential cover-up.

“It’s time for the President to tell us the truth about what he knew and release all the Epstein files,” said Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), the top Democrat on the panel.

The Oversight Democrats’ official X account shared an image of the note, adding: “Trump talks about a ‘wonderful secret’ the two of them shared. What is he hiding? Release the files!”

The White House quickly dismissed the allegations. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday that Trump “did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it,” adding that the president would continue his lawsuit against
The Wall Street Journal for defamation.

Other materials released include Epstein’s 2019 will, the infamous non-prosecution agreement from the mid-2000s, years of contact lists, and banking records. Many documents had previously surfaced in court filings tied to Virginia Giuffre’s civil case against Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in Epstein’s sex trafficking operation.

Republican Oversight Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) accused Democrats of “cherry-picking” files for political gain, stressing that Trump is not accused of wrongdoing. He vowed the GOP-led committee would pursue “a thorough investigation to bring transparency and accountability” regarding Epstein’s crimes.

The release marks the first time Epstein’s 50th birthday book has been made public in full. Among its contents is a photo of Epstein holding a $22,500 check bearing Trump’s name, with a handwritten caption suggesting the payment was for “FULLY DEPRECIATED women.”

The Oversight Committee says its next step will focus on Epstein’s financial transactions, probing whether U.S. institutions enabled his crimes. Meanwhile, Democrats argue that the files raise more questions than answers about Trump’s ties to Epstein, renewing public pressure for the Department of Justice to release all remaining Epstein records.

Epstein, 66, died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial in a Manhattan federal detention center. His death and the secrecy surrounding his extensive network of powerful connections continue to fuel public suspicion and bipartisan demands for transparency.
